ROCKCAST OPEN-AIR

Let's go

While they gear up for new ROCKCAST episodes in September, Paul and Dirk lean back, take a breath and explore the epic world of open-air rock and heavy metal festivals.

From the mud of Wacken to the scorching tarmac of Download, they’ll revisit legendary shows, iconic performances, and reflect on how this can rock your ready-mix, cement, or aggregates logistics.

We'll release a new Open-Air Session each week until September. Check back regularly. Or sign up for our free ROCKCAST newsletter and never miss an episode. Just fill in the form below.

Hoover Dam Concert

In this session, Paul and Dirk head to the Hoover Dam, where Billy Idol made history as the first artist to rock this concrete colossus.

With echoes of Rebel Yell and White Wedding bouncing off millions of cubic yards of concrete, it was more than a concert – it was a seismic statement.

Tune in and explore how civil engineering, thermal control, and punk rock collided in one unforgettable night.

Sweden Rock Festival

This time, Paul and Dirk head to land of Vikings, Volvos, and the loudest open-air metal festival this side of Valhalla.

Small in size, Sweden is a giant in rock and metal, boasting one of the highest numbers of metal bands per capita.

And joining the spotlight is one of our favorite ROCKCAST guest speakers: Håkan Holmgren, the CEO of Checkproof and a true hard rocker at heart.

Wacken Open Air (WOA)

This session dives into Wacken, where a quiet German cow field transforms into a thunderous metal metropolis every August.

But it's not just about the music: Wacken’s legendary beer pipeline is a masterclass in logistics, pumping 400,000 liters of beer underground to thirsty metalheads.

Join Paul and Dirk as they draw a parallel to the construction world’s own unsung hero – the concrete pump truck.

Rock am ring

Join Paul and Dirk as they roar to Rock am Ring, Germany’s loudest festival held on the legendary Nürburgring racetrack.

Where legends like Metallica, Foo Fighters, and Slipknot share the stage with the ghosts of Formula 1 tire smoke.

Here’s the twist: concrete dispatchers and race engineers? Cut from the same high-octane cloth. Explore how precision and split-second timing link the pit lane to the pour zone.

Woodstock

In this session, Paul and Dirk rewind to the summer of ’69 – when Woodstock made festival history and INFORM pioneered the use of algorithms.

400,000 fans, no infrastructure, pure chaos – yet harmony emerged.  It’s a perfect metaphor for what our optimization software does every day: finding harmony in logistics chaos.

Tune in as we connect love, peace, music, and the birth of smarter software in ready-mix, aggregates, and cement logistics.
